Peer Review
The Journal of Asia Entrepreneurship and Sustainability (JAES) operates a double-blind peer review system to ensure impartiality, objectivity, and academic rigor in the evaluation of manuscripts.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
All manuscripts first undergo an editorial assessment to verify relevance, originality, and compliance with the journal’s scope and formatting requirements.
-
Submissions that clearly fall outside the journal’s aims or lack academic contribution may be rejected without external review.
-
These initial decisions are taken promptly, usually within 7 days of submission.
2. Reviewer Selection
Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to two or more independent reviewers with relevant academic expertise. Reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, and vice versa.
3. Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers evaluate submissions based on:
-
Originality and significance of the research
-
Theoretical and methodological soundness
-
Clarity and structure of presentation
-
Relevance to the journal’s scope
4. Decision Process
Following reviewer feedback, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:
-
Accept
-
Minor Revision
-
Major Revision
-
Reject
Authors are provided with constructive comments and are expected to revise and resubmit within the specified time. Final decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief.
5. Timeframe
JAES aims to complete the peer review process within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of submission.
6. Acceptance Rate
JAES maintains high academic standards. For the period 2023–2025, the overall final acceptance rate is less than 12.2%. The most common reasons for rejection include:
-
Insufficient originality
-
Serious methodological or theoretical flaws
-
Lack of contribution to the journal’s readership
-
Temporary overrepresentation of specific topics
